My black & white HP Laserjet 1300 has finally decided to give up its mortality after 20+ years of service. So I urgently need to look for a replacement. My requirements are:
Type: Laser
Colour: Yes
Resolution: 1200 x 1200 DPI
Automatic duplex printing: Yes
Connectivity: USB and Ethernet.
It will be for home office use.
Can anyone please recommend one to get?
This one has caught my eye and seems to cover my requirements: HP Color LaserJet Enterprise M554dn Network Printer
Or are there any others I should be aware of?
With this M554dn, something I'm unsure about its 1200 dpi resolution capabilities, the HP website site says:
Print resolution color (fine lines)Up to 1200 x 1200 dpi
Print resolution color (normal)Up to 600 x 600 dpi
Does that mean it cannot print text and photos at 1200 dpi (only prints them at max 600 dpi) even if a JPG is 1200 dpi, and when it says "fine lines" at 1200 dpi, what does that refer to? Therefore will this feature be a step back from my old Laserjet 1300 which I think could print text at 1300 DPI?
