How to format a 1.44 MB floppy disc in XP?

I know its a noob question but i haven't formatted a floppy since the days of DOS, there it was a simple command like format a: or something like that, i really need this thing formated, please help me out, guys.

Insert disk, in Windows Explorer, right click on a:, then format is on the list.
