  1. how you change the star up on windows xp?, besides going on star > starup
    sometimes many spyware add them self or programs i dont want to run when the pc stars.

    Well, you can adjust some startup items by going to start > run then typing msconfig and hitting enter. Look for the startup tab. You can then uncheck items you donot wish to start up.

    But, if you suspect spyware is you problem, get that cleaned up first.

    Start > Run... type msconfig
    go to C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 and open msconfig.exe

    When it opens, click Start Up and uncheck things you don't want starting up.

    If you suspect a malware problem, please do the following.

    Go and read this thread HERE and post a HJT log as an attachment into this thread.

    Do not stop any items from running with msconfig at the moment. This is because we need to see exactly what`s running on your system.
