Edit: My iPads just not fun anymore!

Issue frequently is MANY websites are not mobile device compatible, load a ton of useless behaviors and huge pictures.

Can you cite a couple of URLS which effect you?

On a PC or Mac, try https://ready.mobi/ and enter any website address; you'll get an analysis of mobile compatibility.
For a good site to submit, sample http://google.com/

Having done work in this area, compatibility design is a real chore. Ideally, the site needs to support three different profiles;
  1. the desktop, normal HTML stuff we've used now for decades
  2. a tablet where there's a reduced, but usable screen resolution which needs to be managed better AND a possible reduced bandwidth to the website.
  3. a cellphone with a severely restricted resolution and a really slow cell access with a data plan cost.
Thus, as the device capability gets reduced, the number of connections, size of the files transferred, number and size of graphics all need to get proportionally smaller and smaller. Many sites rely upon the CSS Responsive technology but that usually only addresses the screen management and still sends buckets of files and the same set of large graphics.

Using the test site noted above on google.com, you can see the corroboration of this statement.

Get a computer and leave the ipads for on the go things, unless you are very computer illiterate thats the best way to go.
