I need help with Ram

  1. i have a oxcco ram car of 512mb

    but it is from my emachies becuase i had upgraded for a higher ram so this is the one i took off will it work for the dell dimesion 2400series ?????

    533MHz
    PC2-4200

    You need to check the specs for the other computer. Not all ram is the same. There is SDRAM, DDR, DDR2 and now DDR3. And even more, there are different speeds for each type. Go to the Dell site, http://support.dell.com and look up the specs and post them here we can tell you.

    Your current RAM is a DDR2 module running at 533MHz. Check whether the mobo on the Dell Dimension will support it. I think the 2400 only supports DDR RAM and not DDR2.
