I'm glad to hear good news 
I just checked my Google Chrome.
It doesn't offer any dialog when you download.
In the bottom left corner of Chrome you should however see what was just downloaded:
When you click on a little downward arrow it'll give you an option "Show in folder".
When you click on that option it'll open a folder where the file was just downloaded.
By default it's C:\your_username\downloads
If needed you can copy a file from there and paste to desired location.
