I have to eat, sleep and work....LOL

I'm glad, your computer is doing better :)

========================================================================

Print this post out, since you won't have an access to it, at some point.

1. Open HijackThis.

2. Close all windows, except for HijackThis.

3. Put checkmarks next to the following HijackThis entries:

O2 - BHO: Java(tm) Plug-In 2 SSV Helper - {DBC80044-A445-435b-BC74-9C25C1C588A9} - C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jp2ssv.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {FDD3B846-8D59-4ffb-8758-209B6AD74ACC} - (no file)

4. You should also checkmark following entries (these are unnecessary startups; no actual programs will be removed):

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CamMonitor] c:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\\Unload\hpqcmon.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HP Software Update] "c:\Program Files\HP\HP Software Update\HPWuSchd.exe"

O4 - .DEFAULT Startup: AutoTBar.exe (User 'Default user')
O4 - .DEFAULT User Startup: AutoTBar.exe (User 'Default user')

5. Click on Fix checked button.

6. Restart computer.

hey broni, one more quick question. computer is freezing up a lot and stalling. can't run auto updates or defrag b/c of super stall and freezing. I figure upgrading ram will help. I will do that next month when i get some extra cash, but til then, do you have any other speed up suggestions?

Please, post some computer info:
- processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows logo key, hit Pause/Break key)
- hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")

Hey broni, here's info requested: Hewlett-Packard Pavilion, Intel (R); Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.50 GHz; 2.49 GHZ, 248 MB of Ram. Free space 55.1 GB, Total size 69.2 GB

Yeah, 248 MB of RAM is definitely an issue here. XP will run much better with 512MB of RAM (1GB preferable).

Try to run defrag in Safe Mode. If still a problem, try Defraggler: http://www.piriform.com/defraggler
As for Windows updates, don't use any other programs, when running updates.

You're welcome :)

Restart computer and keep tapping F8 key until menu appears. Using keyboard's arrow keys select "Safe Mode".
