installing O/S on new hard drive

I purchased a used laptop and the hrad drive failed. now with my new hard drivwe how do I install the Windows on the system....with I turn it on all I get is O/S not found..........

any help would be greatfull

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You need to go into the bios and select the boot order as follows. This is usually done by pressing either the delete key or the F2 key at boot up.

Floppy drive/CDROM drive/Hard drive in that order.

If you don`t have a floppy drive then just set your boot order as CDROM then HDD.

Now put your windows disc into your cd drive then save and exit bios.

Just follow the on screen instructions.

Welcome To Techspot!

I would advise you to go directly to the website of the company that made your Laptop, and find all the drivers and file and instructions to reinstall an Operating system.
These companies usually have proprietary software and you must use it , even their bios files will halt maany types of unregistered installs.

i did that already....file\i386\bios.inf could not be loaded
ther error code is 1024
