Honestly the FX-8350 was pure garbage.
Honestly, I gamed quite happily with it for five years (2012-2017) and now it easily powers my mother's HTPC using Windows 10. Since I only paid $170CAD for it in 2012, that's the best garbage that I've ever seen or heard about. It's quite clear that you never owned an FX-8350 because there's nothing honest about calling it pure garbage.
And anything not Ryzen 5000 or better is pointless for a CPU.
Not if you already own one. Most modern games function perfectly fine on even a first-generation Ryzen. I don't know where you get this idea unless you're talking about building a new gaming rig. Even then, if someone offers you an R7-1700 for almost free, you don't say no because even that will work fine for most games.
A Ryzen 5600 is so damn cheap and packs such a punch for the price. By far the best bang for the buck chip ATM. Not only is it cheap, but most of the older AM4 boards got updated to support it. So under $150 to upgrade an existing system to a Modern high gaming performance platform.
I agree that the R5-5600 is a fantastic value but why would someone spend
anything if their current setup does everything that they want it to, consumerism? If you're talking about building a new rig for the first time, then yeah, I get what you're saying and I agree 100% with you. It is a good deal, but again, only if what someone has isn't doing the job anymore.
The CPU/Mobo/etc is not the issue ATM, it is all GPU. I'm still rocking a 1080ti simply because the cost of getting something that is an upgrade is crazy. A good upgrade can be had for $900+. A sidegrade can be had for $500..... A card from 2017...
Sure and lots of people would say that having a card that old is useless but if what you have works for you, there's no reason to upgrade. You only upgrade if what you have doesn't do what you want it to anymore. Your GTX 1080 Ti is very close to RX 6600-levels of performance and it still works fine for you. That just goes to show how much people are paying that don't need to in the first place.
I was hoping AMD would bring the fight to lower card costs, but they want to ride the money train just as much as Nvidia. And Intel's first real Go around has been a Joke, the A770's performance for how much it costs to make is the issue. Problem with pushing to keep using older cards is cost to make the card... The 3090 was not a cheap card to make.
Sure, but even when AMD did bring card prices down, you
still bought a GTX 1080 Ti so AMD doesn't owe you a thing. You can't buy an nVidia card, then complain about AMD because you're a part of the reason why AMD gave up trying to bring prices down.
Give us a cheap card to make, and sell it cheap. I'm sure the RTX4060ti will be cheap to make, but the performance will be so decent that they'll price to higher than the old performance level tier. $699, when it should be $349
I saw for years people whining about card prices and when Radeons were released at lower prices than GeForce cards, they still paid more for the GeForce cards than the Radeons. I'm honestly shocked that AMD took so long to take the path that they did because they were losing their shirts for ungrateful GeForce owners for years.
The only reason that Ryzen revolutionised the CPU market was the fact that people
actually bought it. All of the people who continued to buy Intel while they complained about the cost just ended up getting fleeced while the people who bought Ryzen got to enjoy the wonders of what has been the greatest platform in PC history, AM4.
People say that AMD saved us from Intel but that's only half-true because really, really, it's the consumers who
actually bought Ryzen who saved not only themselves but the fools who continued to buy only Intel.
If you want postive change to occur, you're going to have to do more than just complain about it in a tech forum. You're going to have to man-up and put your money where your mouth is. That means the next three video cards
in a row that you buy will have to be in red boxes. There is no other effective way to express your displeasure to Jensen Huang because as long as there's a green card in your PC, he really doesn't give a damn and why would he? This is how you kick him in the nads because he keeps his nads in his wallet.
