Is TGTSoft StyleXP infected with anything?

I was just wondering, cause a friend put it on his laptop and I want to try some of the stuff on my box.
However, the site does NOT explicitly say they include no spyware or adware.
So I did some searching and found a page (http://netrn.net/spywareblog/archives/2004/11/19/warning-major-exploit-underway/) that might suggest it is infected. If you read comment number 2 on the bottom.


Does anybody use StyleXP or does anybody know if it includes any junk?

Apart from the article you linked, I can`t find any evidence of Style xp being bad. However, from Googling, it appears the general concensus is Windowblinds is the prefrerred programme and uses less resources.

I used Style XP once, you I didn't get any warnings from anti-spyware programs. If it was infected, the news would've spread like wildfire over internet forums, so I think your safe using it.

I use WindowBlinds aswell, it loads only one .dll to skin everything. As long as you turn off the tray icon, you won't notice it's there.

Thanks guys, I had about the same result, until I found it on Download.com and read the reviews.

So on that note, I think I'll turn to WindowBlinds as well. I just liked the screen savers that the other one had.
