My laptop which is Eee PC series recently showed me the error message:

Isass.exe-System error
Insufficient system resources exist to complete API

When I clicked on OK it would not load the user profile and it reboots.
The laptop has Windows XP installed. I tried to boot using the Last Known Good Configuration but still the user profile will not be loaded.

Please help. This laptop has very important information for me.

Thank you in advance

Hm.. lsass.exe could be difficult fix.

It could be an infection, I would suggest going to the malware portion of the forums and posting a Hijack this log for someone to check out, or even just do a scan yourself.

You could attempt to just replace it. To do this you will need another means of accessing the hard drive, either boot from the Windows Installtion CD and go into Recovery Console, or if you have a hard drive bay you can connect it to another computer and try and copy it **But I do not advise this if it IS infected..** the file to replace it with is from c:\windows\system32\dllcache then just find lsass.exe

generally lsass issues are associated with infections though, has anything changed recently? Or did the computer restart mid-use?
