And where exactly is this astronautical influence? There is nearly nothing leading them to make that decision. We treat our kids the same way congress treats us with a closed door policy. And then we wonder. Why they are so dim witted when they become of age.

It's worse than that,. The parents don't have any knowledge to hide from the kidz. They didn't graduate 6th grade, and they send them to school with bundles of heroin and 9 mm pistols in their backpacks...........(dramatic pause)...............all at the expense of federal, state, and local governments

It's a "Brave New World" out there Cliff. (And yeah, I plagiarized and prostituted a perfectly good book title, just to squander it on some of the crap that passes itself off a human children nowadays).

You know, the police officers in Philly are in terrible trouble for posting racist comments on YouTube. I live in the middle of it all, and I see the perpetual rudeness and abuse they have to put up with.


So while, all the POS activists are calling fort their heads on a platter, I think they should be allowed to let their frustration out among themselves on the web...I consider it therapy, to which they're fully entitled.

The salient point here is, these are both black and white officers making "racist remarks". which tells you a great deal about their "clientele".

It's not the Ku Klux Klan here, these are real people struggling with real issues without racial motivation or boundaries.

While that may seem a bit off the topic of your question, read between the lines and you'll have your answer.

It is the first job they have contact with outside the family environment. Considering that they spent half or more of their day with those professionals it is the only reality they know. This is why also their culture turns around schools and it's social environment. We, humans, get attached to what we know, kids only know schools.

Id say its really bad, but the youtuber of today is only the tv star of yesterday so in that sense is not that unusual that kids want to be them.

I think it's funny though how those dreams will eventually be crushed down to the size of an atom.

Well, what do you expect? Since 1972, we STOPPED talking about "the moon" and concentrated with just going up in the shuttle, circling around the Earth, then coming back. Plus, kids don't value "hard" work...they want to take photos, youtube videos and play video games, which, for better or worse, they can make a quick buck. Going to the moon, per se, takes HARD work, and probably doesn't pay very well (government pay scale).

I thought you meant "high" as in stoned, fried, or whatever colloquial term you choose to attach to bring "under the influence".

But, I now realize my major blunder, and that you meant "high in the rankings".Children will generally give a great deal of respect to an tribe elder, especially one who, "has all the answers". The first question a child learns is "why". For someone who has the patience to answer that question ad infinitum, along with the intellectual resources and authority, children respond with nothing less than hero worship.

A teacher has to be one of the most ego reinforcing jobs on the planet. They do it because they "feel fulfilled by shaping the minds of the future".. Which is euphemistically the equivalent of, "because it makes my head so big, it will barely fit through a doorway".

There's almost no way possible to avoid a superiority complex, with a pinch of condescension added, and still do that job.
