LG G4 begins global rollout this week, starting with Hong Kong

LG has announced that their latest flagship smartphone, the G4, will begin shipping to a variety of countries around the globe this week. The first country to get the handset will be Hong Kong, followed by Turkey, Russia and Singapore.

Throughout the next month or so, the LG G4 will become available in regions including Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South/Central America. There's no specific word on when the smartphone will land on the shores of the United States, though all major carriers have announced they will carry the device.

LG hasn't mentioned how much the G4 will cost when it goes on sale, other than saying the price will vary between markets. Judging by the prices of its competitors, such as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9, it'll probably cost around $700 outright and $200 on a standard two-year contract.

When the LG G4 lands, it will come with a 5.5-inch "quantum display", a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC, and an impressive 16-megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 lens. LG has also included features that Samsung removed from their latest Galaxy S6, such as a removable battery and a microSD card slot.

There's also the option to buy the G4 with a stitched leather back, which gives the smartphone a unique look, especially when considering the signature back-panel buttons. For those who would rather have a more traditional back panel, LG also offers the G4 in plastic.

I had high hopes for G4, till it was announced. It left the same impression like Samsung Galaxy S5 did last year, hardly any innovation over the previous one, or at least ones not worth an upgrade, for sure.

Suddenly, it's nowhere to be seen.

And why on earth don't they use Gorilla Glass 4 like all the top mobiles today? No, they went for the old GG3 instead.

Any fall, it doesn't just shutter the screen completely, it also falls apart - literally.

And LG have gone with DDR3 RAM in the G4, compared to Samsung's DDR4 RAM in the S6.
But unless a major review comes out saying the G4 is a disaster, I'm still gonna buy it!
