LG G4 Review: A worthy high-end contender

These days I start reading those kind of reviews with scrolling down to Battery Life. Unfortunately, nothing changes here in years.

Exactly. I use my smartphone as a tool, not a fashion accessory and have been waiting far too long for a phone company to release a model that's 2mm thicker to accommodate its big *** battery. They all seem to think we would prefer a wafer thin panty liner over something that's slightly thicker and kicks every other phone to the curb when it comes to battery life.

Thanks for a great and thorough review, including the comment regarding the video. I too look directly at battery life, and find it amusing that it is always the also ran, back of the review here - as I care not about much if it isn't tops in battery life - nothing makes me hate a device quicker than the oops moment, in my case it is usually caused by my (old) phone insta-sending a 2GB movie to the cloud for backup, lol. No SD is another deal-breaker, TS already has their clik when I open the review, please consider stating in the first paragraph that it's 'wonder-camera' is useless in many cases, as the device lacks local storage.

RE battery breakthrough, if I'm not mistaken, the batteries are somewhat universal now, original 'packaging' taken on by the manufacturer several phone generations ago, and no one willing to pony up for a new 'packaging'. Samsung -could- have done it, when switching to non-replaceable, since they could have installed a better-cooling-tied to APU, thinner,, blah blah, but it would have changed assembly, added cost, whoops, you're outa' the market of already Very expensive devices. I'm personally waiting for an OPPO moment, when someone steps up to the bland-generic plate and offers a Compelling phone for a 50% price premium, to see if the market is willing. Else, I see No hope on the battery front, as the 3k battery does it for most uses, and retooling, etc. is cost prohibitive - No one wants to foot that bill.

My experiences with LG phones, after having six of them (my wife has had 3 so far) I had 2 and one my daughter is that the quality is terrible . Yes I bought them because of the price / specs they simply were the "best choice" but after 6 months / 1 year either the battery, the charger, screen, buttons, touch, etc. doesnt work properly :(
