Logitech has announced a new buttonless mouse featuring touch-sensitivity across its entire surface to support a handful of gestures as well as the usual left- and right-click functionality. The Touch Mouse M600 bears a clear resemblance to Apple's Magic Mouse, adopting an ambidextrous design and smallish footprint, but comes in a stylish black color with grey patterns accentuated around the edges.

The wireless rodent supports scroll and swipe gestures with your fingers no matter where they rest on the surface of the M600. In addition, with the optional Flow Scroll software, the company promises free flowing web scrolling similar to what you experience using your smartphone or tablet's touch screen. The M600 works for left or right handed users as click areas can be configured with Logitech's SetPoint software.

The device includes a Logitech Unifying receiver capable of wirelessly connecting up to six compatible mice and keyboards through a single USB port. It is powered by a pair of AA batteries that will last up to six months, but those who prefer using a lighter peripheral can remove one and it'll still work for three months.

The Logitech Touch Mouse M600 will be available in the U.S. this month for $70.

Just bought one yesterday. Its a novel idea, no doubt. Carrying two pencil batteries, the weight of the mouse is heavier than the conventional wired ones, so you will have to get used to it. When configuring settings, be careful. Never leave it to defaults. See the demonstrator's hands in the guidelines and then decide, if you are a lefty or righty. One or two adjustments, now and then will be required to help you understand.
Overall, a good product. I recommend.
