Loosing network adapters

I had to format & reload XP Home (long story). I have a 2Wire from Sbglobal for my DSL. I keep Loosing network adapters every time I reboot. I then have to unplug the 2Wire, wait 15sec. then plug back in. Then XP SR2 finds it.

How do I fix?

When device manager is open & network adapters are not present, I can not get on the internet.

There is something majorly wrong here. Has it always worked out this way? What did you do to change it currently? Are the drivers for your modem up to date?

You might wait around for a more intelligible answer, I've been doing a little boozing.
