Processor is an AMD athlon 950

Earlier today me and my bf bought two sticks of pc133 memory, each 256 sticks, to add to our pc's so we'd both have a total of 512 memory (in addition to the 256 we already had)
We bought memory that was completely compatible with our board, according to a knowleadgable tech expert who helped us--it was compatible with pc100 and pc133 sdram, 168 pin.
When we got back my bf put the ram on his pc and it worked out really great. I put it on mine and... it didnt even start.
I tried switching around the order of the ram chips, restarted. It loaded up teh vid card, performed a memory test, but it wouldnt reach windows---it would wind up turning the screen black right before windows would start loading--but it would remain black. No start up, nothing.
Eventually i took his new stick and gave him my old---i had two new similar sticks in my pc and started it up. It loaded up halfway, then froze, showing odd letters and blinking symbols in the top and bottom of the screen.
I switched em around a lot, for the better part of an hour, and still nothing.
Meanwhile, he ran both his old stick and my old stick just fine.
We switched mem sticks, i got both old, and he got both new--once again it worked wonders on his pc, but mine... wouldnt even load.
Eventually i put my old single stick back in and windows loaded up halfway, then gave me the bsod. I tried a few more times, no luck. WIndows said i had to reinstall some files, so i wound up trying to repair it, but it would fail the setup and give me the blue screen again.
Eventually i got it to work only after choosing to install a brand new windows directory.
My pc is acting really badly, lagging out, freezing, very horrible.
I tried again to two sticks with the new windows and nothing worked so far. It can only run a single stick at a time it seems, and when i add a second stick to the equation, it loads up, but doesnt reach windows.
I dont know what to do
