I also read rumors about this service possibly being integrated into (or used as a foundation for) Windows Phone 8. Hmm, Microsoft is doing an splendid job at keeping a lid on all this stuff. Can't wait to see what comes out after this.

"Yammer", what a compelling name for a social networking site. I expect it was picked as the winner in a, "name the next mindless massive time waster" contest.

Runners up were, "Blabber",and "Babbling", with the entry, "Pedophile Cafe" being turned over to the FBI for further scrutiny.

Grand prize was awarded in the amount of 5000 unsolicited friend requests, from people the winner is highly unlikely to ever meet, has nothing in common with, and would avoid like the plague if he or she were ever to be approached by them on the street.

The website's stated mission is explained thus, "sure we're creepy, but we're also your coworkers, so let's be friends. So, pull up a back, and let's bury the hatchet".
