Missouri rules that lab-grown meat is not meat

I agree with @TomSEA. As long as they are not being deceptive, I don't see why they can't use the word meat in their marketing. However, I get the feeling that some of these company would indeed like to have the freedom to be deceptive about it. It is certainly something that needs to be watched.
That's the problem though, you let them call it "soy chicken" now and down the road they drop the "soy" part and start calling it "Chicken*" then you have to find the asterisk on the package to figure out what it really is. Look at Almond Milk, it's not milk, there's no way to milk and almond because they don't have tits from which to lactate. I say screw that company, you sell Tofu, and fake meat products. Take your vegan non-meat products and GTFO.

what do you call the liquid inside of a coconut? or the part of it that you eat? I dont recall coconuts having tits or being considered livestock.
The liquid part inside of a coconut is coconut water, what is called coconut milk is actually shredded and simmered coconut which then has the pulp removed.

Lmao, are you a real person? maybe a bot...

Seriously, how can you say such gibberish, animals have wills now ? they can be "murdered" ?? really ?

geezes oh my, this is golden !
believe it or not, there are a lot of people that believe animals are innocent and not deserving of pointless slaughter. and that movement is only growing. plant based milk profits are becoming huge and meat storage facilities are full to the brim because of lack of demand.

and yes, animals have will. they have family units, emotions, and complex thoughts just like humans. simply because they aren't as smart as us, does not make them less deserving of life. and meat is absolutely non-essential to the human diet. you can get everything you need from plants, except for B12, which we have supplements for.

add to this the IMMENSE damage that factory farming causes the planet, from the deforestation to the water and air pollution (as much or more than the transportation industry), eating meat is killing the planet. there is just no good reason to eat meat. sure, it tastes good, but is that really a good enough reason to doom the entire planet and, by extension, the human race? people are starting to realize that, no, its not worth it. besides, vegan food is amazing

all of my claims are easily verifiable with a google search

The word meat literally means the insides of any fruit, vegetable or animal. Every gardener I know calls the insides of pumpkins, watermelons, and cantaloupe meat. Animal products have always had a color modifying the word meat. Pork and chicken are considered white meat. Cattle are called red meat. Vegetables and fruits have always had the name of that plant modifying the word meat hence you get zucchini meat, gourd meat, muskmelon meat, etc. This nomenclature has been used for centuries. Cattle, hog, and chicken producers fear meat growing labs won't identify the type of meat it is when it should be called and labeled lab-grown meat.

Neither do humans in the form of a disembodied apparition. However, animals and plants are scrumptious when properly cooked and therefore make Man's life more pleasurable. Onion rings are nice, too, but a good steak is amazing and, along with exercise, makes building muscle mass easier than would munching on celery. I like a variety, though.

If it is 100% safe in the long run, tastes just as good, and drives prices down, it can use the word "meat" but also has to mention that it is artificial, not natural.

I was all..how does one grow meat? If they make it public then call it somthing like Faux Meat or Zombieflesh

how does tasty food make mans life more pleasurable if it is also actively destroying his planet?

good one, but address any of my other points instead parroting this tired, ignorant excuse
Ignorance is on your part not his. You can't state a fact based on the lack of knowledge. You want to attack his belief with your belief and call him ignorant.
