More desktop friendly tweaks show up in Windows 8.1 Update 1 leak, April 8 release expected

Sorry, but the whole concept of Windows 8 pissed me off to the point where I put it on my, "Ignore List".

As a a primarily desktop user, I feel completely vindicated about that, because M$ put me on their, "Ignore List" first.......(y)

It's really hard to tell which finger that is. To me it seems to be near the center of that hand. What do you think?

You are looking far and beyond for causes to use it, that's up to you.
Just saying!
Well it's actually kind of funny, because someone asked me why should they use W8, I tell a bunch of good things that they improved and then he tells me something like "I don't care about speed improvements, give me a better paint!"... so... yeah that's kind of looking for one too many reasons why not.

I'm pretty sure Microsoft hasn't been the first nor the last to put you on the ignore list.
Nor the first or last to make you guess which finger ;)

I used to enjoy heartily playing a spirited game of, "how many fingers am I holding up", with a delightfully pliant former girlfriend. With you however, not so much.......:p

^ Pausing copying files is a great improvement over previous versions of Windows is one example. For those of us with multiple HDs in the multi TB range sometimes you'll have a big copy going and then want to do a smaller (yet still somewhat large) copy and don't want it to take over 2x as long as doing them individually, and want to avoid fragmenting the hell out of your drive.

There are a few others, I spent a bunch of time a while back defending Windows 8 when it was in public beta. I have since stepped back from strongly defending it because of some issues I had with it and its complete lack of improvement (and arguably complete wrong direction in moving forward IMO from MS with the updates). The thread where I discussed the many advantages 8 brings over 7 should still be stickied in the Windows OS forum.
