Most Anticipated PC Games of 2025

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, South of Midnight, Assassin's Creed Shadows,Fable, Avowed <3
Cant wait to play them. Usually I dont like games at all that are in in first person but Avowed world looks very nice :D

If Doom The Dark Ages follows Eternal in being a 'shooter' with a severe ammo restriction that constantly forces you to go into melee - I won't buy it(id) anymore.

Unfortunately, there are hints in the newly released video that things are going in a similar direction with a new mutifunctional melee shield and three new melee weapons. I do not want to play For Honor or Souls with Guns, I want a classic shooter. Still hope they go back to their roots but I fear we will get Doom Eternal II.

Crimson Desert and South of Midnight look really promising. So far till now, the graphic quality in the Black Desert has always been one of the best imo. Hopefully this year we can have a good game which force me to upgrade my rigs xD xD

I've got my fingers crossed hoping Civ 7 will be excellent but I'm going to be honest... I'm worried.

When I compare the tone I'm reading on Reddit and forums to what I'm seeing from the talking heads telling us to be excited.... the main difference is... excitement. Historically, when I've observed that dissonance just before release... I've had zero regrets about not buying on day 1.

Avowed will easily be GOTY, nothing in that list, even including GTAVI (which isn't out this year anyways, so a moot point), will hold a candle to it imo. Paying $20 for 5-days is shady af tho. At least include a season pass with it and make the five days the bonus, cuz no one gives half a flying eff about skins and a digital artbook...

That was really funny, thank you. "Severe ammo restriction"

I hope that's not all the promising games of 2025.
Not sure why Avowed is getting so much. I like Obsidian but Avowed doesn't look too great imo.

It's a great universe and they're making the least out of it with Avowed. Everything they've shown and told us about it along the way has lowered my expectations to the point where I don't expect I'll even try it, despite being a Pillars fan.

The only games mentioned in this article I'm barely mildly interested in, are the MGS3 remake, the Fable reboot, Atomfall and InZOI.

Funny how most games, especially those in a fantasy setting, are all looking exactly the same.

If these are the most anticipated games of 2025, looks like it's going to be a very weak year for gaming.

With how absolutelyshitty Dying Light 2 was, if they don't go back to how the gameplay was for the first Dying Light, this next game will be another disaster. Also, co-op has to work from the get go like it did in the first game (sure a few disconnects, but they were resolved right away), unlike how the second game went for 2 years and still had major problems with co-op....I stopped following the game after that so I don't know if they resolved them all. However, the gameplay of the second game was abysmal, even after all the updates/patches so I stopped hoping for a good, playable sequel to Dying Light.

Yep. Dying Light 2 was one of the biggest gaming disappointments in 10 years for me.

I only played it years after it was released, so I wasn't expecting much, but I was still let down. There's not a single thing that it does better than its predecessor, DL1 even _looks_ better than DL2 despite having been released 7 years before.

And people get mad when I say PC gaming has been dying these last 5 years. Civ is the only one here that excites me. We know GTA and MGS are not coming to PC this year.

I see 3 games whose makers purposely screwed up their chances on selling enough copies.

Next, Little Nightmare devs make game 3, but then announce a game that looks very similar to the Little Nightmares. Guess what, they name it something else! Why?
Why do you need to make 2 similar games of which one continues the LN franchise while the second is called something else.

Did you see a doc on reddit listing every feature that was promised but was not in the game? I believe it had something to do with the man who got falsely accused of sexual misconduct and was fired.
In any case, I liked the ideas in that PDF a lot. The second game was not as good as the first one, that is without a doubt.

So, since this is a PC site and we're all tech geeks, would it be possible for you to mention the game engine these games are using? Im really curious to see which ones are using Unreal Engine 5 and if any are using propriety engines just to get a better insight into their graphics fidelity. Thank youuu!

Visually they all will look amazing. Those that lack more substantive pursuits in their life will master them. Games are fun I play almost everyday. What I don't want to do with game time is study. There are other more profitable learning experiences when that's my goal. I want to relax and I can do that with familiarity. Dusk and some of the other Indie efforts are also good choices for me. I also will not spend my pensioners money on expensive games. I'm like Hiram Roth that way. I hope you all have fun playing your game choice. They are cool. I am going after the latest STALKER though, soon

Doom Dark Ages looks good. I think they should have called it Hexen 3 and added in more fantasy/mystical/magical elements. The Heretic/Hexen titles were top shelf and this seems to fit that theme..
It's always nice to see a Heretic/Hexen fan. I must have really liked those games. I finished them all

Apparently ray tracing GPU is a must - that seems weird and unbelievable necessity , see if true
