My Laptop Is Not Starting

My laptop is of HCL and model is 'ME'.It was working fine till last night.Today when I tried to start it it wasn't starting.I plugged AC adapter (original) but still no output.After couple of tries it do started and was working normally.But I shutted down and again tried by removing adapter cause there was battery remaining (66%)but it wasn't starting.I also tried to hold power button for 2 min after removing battery and AC adapter.Then I plugged adapter and tried but 0 output.pls help me

Test again with battery removed to see if it will run with adapter alone.

Hey,thanks for replying.I think so I got the problem.I pushed my power button little hard and it started.So looks like I have to change set and reset button underneath power button.But is that possible

Might be a cracked solder joint or bad wire where power button attached to circuit board. eBay may have replacement... otherwise if you (or a friend) is talented mechanically, you might locate problem and fix directly. Strong light source and magnification help. YouTube has many laptop repair and disassembly videos - one may match your model.
