My Safe Mode desktop is gone.

Just curious if you ever got Safe Mode to work again.

I've followed your posts as one walking in your shoes. I've encountered all the same problems. This winantivirus stuff is evil incarnate. I'd love to find the makers in a dark alley someday.

Meanwhile, I'm close to saying screw it and reformatting my hard drive and starting anew, if for no other reason than to get a working Safe Mode back AND finally be rid of those nasty pop-ups.

Of course, the kids might reinfect us again, despite my lectures, so I plan to Ghost a virus free, spyware free, running great version of the hard drive for easy makeovers in the future.

Best wishes for a positive outcome.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

I have moved your post to it`s own thread. This will save any confusion.

In answer to your question, yes he did get safe mode working again.

Download and run these four tools. Follow the instructions for using each tool.

Tool1 Tool2 Tool3 Tool4

Then, go HERE and follow the instructions for running Ewido.

Post a fresh HJT log as an attachment into this thread, only after doing the above. See HERE for instructions on how to do this.
