Nasty virus, need to restore desktop

Well it left some nasty pictures on my desktop, lets just say that. I ended up getting rid of it, but now the desktop tab under Display properties is gone. I like having this, so I can set my wallpaper as centered etc.

Is there a way to recover this? Registy? Repair?

Here's an idea... Open the "Group Policy Editor" by typing gpedit.msc in Start / Run. Then press enter or click OK.

A new window should open. Browse to User Configuration / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Windows Explorer

Click on the "Turn on Classic Shell" option.

Set the option to "Not configured" then click OK. This may allow your to see that tab again.
