I am a new to this site and do not have a lot of tech experience on computers.
Last nite while downloading from a site my antivirus popped up with a backdoor virus. I did not catch the full name because it just completley froze the computer.
After not being able to do anything for about 5 mins I held the power button on my laptop and manually shut it down.
Now when I log on it only shows my background to the desktop but there are no windows or task bar. When I tried to access my task manager it said it was disabled by the admin.
I tried to log in thru safe mode and it showed 2 users, and Admin and myself. Originally I had been the admin. When trying to log in as the admin it requires a password.
Not sure where to go from here. I read the first threads about identity theft and have already started the process of changing my passwords with the bank and other online services I use.
Please any help would be appreciated.
