Presently, our company has a server with Altiris which we use to host and manage the images we use for our PCs and laptops. This server, and the the software, are both running out of life, so I am looking for suggestions on getting something to replace Altiris.
Presently, we use a bot disk on our laptops and PCs which connects the unit to the server, and from the server, we manage the queue for which image to load, or even to run a job that will create a new image from the PC in question. The images, themselves, are far too large to fit onto a self-booting CD or DVD, so any alternate solution we use must either be server based, or able to boot from an external USB drive. We are also updating all the images about once a month or so to incorporate updates to Windows and virus definitions.
