sound problems

Now before you try and change where this is let me explain.

i just installed a new os (.Net enterprise beta) anjd was wondering of anyone else has hadproblms with the sound. ive got a S B live value and it is installed, first with the drivers it did by default, then using creatives type specific drivers.

so in device manager it recognises that it is installed, in sound properties it says there are no usable devises and that the SB is installed and under the properties on it it is the default player for all audio devises.

I have tried all i can think of and was wondering if there is anything i have missed or if thsi is just a "feature" of the Beta

Maybe Creative's XP drivers aren't compatible with .NET? Roll back driver to default, see if it helps. Or do you need a specific feature Creative driver has?

i tried with the default driver, first and have tried rolling back, i dont need any of the features (headphones are all i need) however i do need sound, do u think i should roll back to 2k advanced sever?

Well, it's beta and to be expected. Speaking of which, what do you think about it so far?

This problem is probably simliar to the one people were having with Windows XP and SB cards. The Windows 2000 drivers were not working properly and the ones supplied with Windows XP worked about 50% of the time.

You'll probably have to wait it out until some new drivers leak out or until a later release of .NET.

Duno if this applies, but click on Start, Run, type is services.msc & hit Ok.
In that listing there should be a service called Windows Audio (Least there is in XP), ensure its set to Automatic.

so far .NET is allot like 2k advanced server but with a XP make-over, if that makes sence. Seems very stable and im very pleased with it , other the the sound issue.

if you have any specific Q's about it feel free to ask

oops, forgot to say that the command is still valid(can also right click my comp, manage)but no it didnt help as there must be a working sound device to activeso im going to chalk this one up to being a beta.
