Netflix rolls out high-quality audio support for 5.1 surround sound and Dolby Atmos

Does anyone know if this will also apply to regular Roku devices (not their TVs) or the nVidia Shield that currently only support 5.1 (no matter which Netflix plan you have)?
It doesn't matter what Netflix plan you have as long as you're just using 5.1. Premium plans have DD Atmos (5.2.1.. or is it 5.1.2? Can't remember). And I don't think the bitrate of the audio track changes a thing. Think of it as a 192 kbps and 320 kbps MP3 audio file, one is bigger and better, you'll only need a faster ISP to stream it, which I believe won't be an issue.-

Currently even if you have a home theater system that supports Atmos, have the Netflix premium plan, and you are viewing Netflix through any Roku or nVidia Shield the best option you get is 5.1. (Atmos is the 3rd number for how many ceiling speakers - typically .2 or .4 for home use)
According to Netflix, only specific devices support the Atmos stream. (FWIW, the regular Roku Plex app supports Atmos).

I was just curious if this announcement meant other devices will be "allowed" to stream the Atmos audio through the Netflix app.
