My house is wired by Cat 6 wiring, and into this we plug our router, a netgear dg834n. We have had this router for about 2 and a half years now and have never had a problem. However, in the last 2 months we have been getting varying degrees of network failure. At its best, the router works fine. However, when we receive a phone call it cuts out for about 4 minutes. It sometimes will cut out without provocation, and will need either the output changed from one port to another, or a complete reboot. Finally, it will cut out for a long time, up to 5 hours. This usually occurs during bad weather.
I do not understand what is going on or how to fix it.
Does anyone have any ideas?
