New computer problems

Hi all

I've just bought a new motherboard & CPU (Gigabyte nforce4ultra & AMD 64X2 - 4600(939) ). I put it all together and everything was fine, it started into windows XP as normal. However occasionaly when I start my computer the post beep continues forever until I restart the computer. The real strange thing is that the CPU fan turns off & the beep continues but it still loads windows XP perfectly & runs as normal. My PSU is 400watt, 1GB corsiar memory(512 X 2), Radeon X1900GT.

sounds odd...have you tested all the hardware (as far as is possible)
btw sounds like a nice pc

Thanks. Everything was working fine before the new Motherboard & CPU. The memory is also new but it was working fine with a previous motherboard.

I have found that its my IDE harddrive that is causing the continous beep, because when I unplug it, the computer doesn't have a continous beep anymore. All my other HDD are sata. However I still dont no how to figure out why the harddrive is doing this, as it worked fine with my other motherboard.
