New Xbox 360 uses 45nm chip with combined CPU, GPU

I am both a PC and Console gamer, and my PC cost me quite a bit more than my 360. Granted I use my PC as a PC as well, but trying to say prices for PC gamers aren't higher is just silly. My PC is quite a bit faster than my 360, but I still do play my 360 quite a bit only for the fact that consoles happen to have rather nice exclusive titles. The only game I play on my PC is SC2, and before that W3, but with my 360 I play a fair number. My point is that a mix is the best option for a gamer looking to actually enjoy themselves. Also, to the earlier poster that claimed PC gamers were better players because they are not limited by a control pad, that doesn't even make sense. How could you say they are more skilled if what holds back console players is not a lack of skill but a failure of input device. SMH

Your pc poops consoles??, but let take other things into consideration. For example: 1. After putting everything together, how much did your PC cost you??? 2. inorder to run the game of your choice, your pc needs the requirments: Expensive video card, updated video drivers..etc. just to play few pc games, where as consoles they dont need any of that beacuse it is fixed and OPTIMIZED all the time. Now here come the good part. It cost $199 (XBOX360). Where as a PC Gamers Rig will run you about $1500-2000....make sense. Yes, it's true that some players perfere pc gaming because of HI Rez displays, mouse + Keyboard control. I have a decent pc and I dont even play one game onit.

This is one of stupid things I have been hearing around while I was in the school in few years ago. (YES, hard to believe this, eh?)

Listen here, and I'll keep this post nice.

At this year, you don't really have any points on convincing people on getting the consoles instead of PC or any consoles... here's a fact that might convince you.

Does your xbox 360 have the ability to install the antivirus of your choice and use it? What about the document editing programs, such as Office and Photoshops? Will you be able to buy the game and play online for free? Will you be able to back up your files? Will you need to buy extra batteries and monthly membership cards just for using this simple computer?

Look at this at another way, it's pretty much same thing if you buy the new consoles just because it's way faster and better than the old consoles.... IT'S SAME as upgrading your PC! There's no difference between them!

Every PCs, Macs and consoles has it own upgrade path and limitations. I think you wrote your post a little bit too soon.

Yeah, I might re-emphasizing this after someone's posts again, but I'm with Burty117 on this one.

Beside, I paid 350 bones and reused the other parts to resurrects my Frankenstein. I have seen someone paid way less and more than us, it's just our choice of entertainments, not based of your post and choices.

If you don't really like to play games on your computer, why bothering to post something in this topic, telling us to get Xbox 360 anyway?

Hi all. Seems a few people are incredibly anti-console and want to argue the pc is a better machine.

I have all 3. If I want to play Demons and Souls I use my PS3. If I want to play FIFA10 I use my 360 (old model). If I want to play all my steam games I use the PC.

No one has mentioned this - if they didn't bottleneck the new 360 then you could find yourself being beaten online by someone with a faster framerate (essential in controller based fps etc that everyone has the same capabilties for example). You wouldn't want a game to be unbalanced because half the community are using a faster version of the machine.

Plus any incompatability issues - having to test games on 2 different platforms. Personally I am just happy there is a quieter version of the 360 available with a smarter formfacter and the platform shows no sign of dieing out any time soon. I made the right choice as far as I am concerned - 4 years into the life cycle of the PS3 and it becomes clear with titles like Red Dead Redemption and Fifa10 that the 360 is at least as capable as the PS3 and the online for PS3 shows no sign of improving with as many features as Xbox Live (voice communication being dependant on being in the same game on the same map being awful - better running skype on a pc to chat to people while you play games with them).

Still shits on any P.C set-up under $6000, not to mention all the other benefits!! If your a PC noob then stick to your PC as we have enough noobs on xbox live already!!! If you want to know how games are meant to be played then buy and xbox 360 and JTAG hack it....

hello ...

this is still alive, i guess we like to argue :p

i hope like as usual i'm ending this here .. LOL, but this time will try not post a big block of text.

I'm not even sure there are some bottleneck applied, it may be some strategic approach by MS & saying so just would make fanboys now have another argument like .. My Xbox is better than you PC or PS3, it's just now being limited to be on par with older versions :p

anyway, i'm repeating here, the PC can't just be considered as a gaming machine ... for it is the platform of development & the best gaming experience, i believe games on consoles have big potentials but are limited by hardware (just compare the same game on PS2 & their PS3 HD(720p) versions - we can see they are pulled down to work on the limited hardware. the PC works differently, the same game can be presented differently according to the hardware, as long as a minimum requirement is respected.

if i can play an old pixelated game on my PC or console then the true value of playing games isn't in who's the bigger .. huh ! sorry, who has the better config / spex but how we can have fun with a piece of soft.

I don't feel like console gamers have anything to envy PC gamers & the PC could be the master of all gaming machines if Exclusivity didn't exist. just to say, i wonder how wonderful Uncharted 2 would be on a high performance PC (don't forget i can use any Xbox or PS controller on the PC too so same feeling) ...on the PS3 it runs in 720p & is A.W.E.S.O.M.E .... now imagine rendered in higher res ...

it's all about the concept, the games & if one can afford & no one is forced to own only 1 platform, i don't & happy about it. now let see, tonight i'll run City of Heroes for the 1st time on my PC (took so long to update after an already long steam download - total more that 16 hours .. pfff) & maybe on wednesday after PSN update will check for new demos & vids on the PS3, maybe i'll play also Heavy rain, while on friday it's UC2 MP night with my pals, but if i don't have much time, i shall play also a bit of plants vs zombies :p ... u know what i don't have time to think which is better, for sure i'll build myself a new PC (oh yea they are expensive, mine may cost me around Rs 50K; i.e. around 1400US$ but always worth it) ...i'm waiting for Diablo 3, torchlight 2, & some other PC Exclusives ... :p

repeating & quoting KB: "if you have a great girlfriend & your pal has a great girlfriend, who wins .... E.V.E.R.Y.B.O.D.Y !!!"

sorry, finally was long ;)

cheers!

What is really killing the pc game market is pirating. consoles are almost a garuntee to make money when you have a good title. where as pirating dilutes pc game sales
