In an effort to expand its global footprint, California-based online retailer Newegg, which specializes in computer parts and electronic goods has announced that its e-commerce website is now available in key European and Asian markets including India, Ireland, Singapore, New Zealand, Poland, and the Netherlands.

“We’re committed to growing Newegg in these regions so people from all around the world can experience the stellar shopping experience our North American customers currently enjoy”, said Soren Mills, Chief Marketing Officer of Newegg North America.

Besides Canada and the US, Newegg is already available in Australia and the UK.

Newegg said that the new international stores will have a limited product selection for now, but the company expects to boost its global range over the coming months. As far as prices are concerned, they are competitive, but factoring in the shipping cost brings them almost at par with the rates being offered by local retailers.

The company has also added 24x7 multilingual customer service, allowing customers to chat in their native language. At present the feature supports Polish and Dutch, but the company promises to add more options as it increases its global presence.

For those who aren't aware, Newegg offers hardware components such as graphics cards, processors, solid state drives, cases, and more at competitive prices. Earlier, at this year's Computex, the company had announced its plans to expand to six more countries by end of June, but it was ultimately pushed back to this date.

I love the terminology used nowadays. Instead of saying "expanding our global footprint" why not come right out and say "we intend to get in everyone's face and try fleece them". That's what they actually mean, isn't it?
"Expanding their footprint" makes them sound like a Yeti.:D

You forgot to mention in your article that NewEgg is also available in Taiwan. They have been for about a year now.

I wish I could support Newegg...I really do. They were there for me in the late '90s and 2000's after NECX Direct, CompuAdd and all the rest folded. Bit I just cant bring myself to spend upwards of $20 for 5 day shipping from the west coast to the east coast on the items I want when I can get a better price and no-charge 1-day shipping from Amazon. They need to change their business model

I remember NECX Direct; I ordered two 12MB Orchid Righteous 3D II cards from them back in '98 as part of my upgrade to a Pentium II system. On occasion I also order from Amazon when their prices are cheaper than Newegg's.

Dont bother .. the prices are about the same as currys .... they need about 20% cuts across the board to even start being competitive.

Newegg has no change, at least in Europe with so many online retailers that they got there.

Newegg was great 5-10 years ago. But iv noticed that their prices are no longer that competitive to their competition. They are becoming what users were trying to avoid. Another big box store with mediocre prices.
