Nintendo says dead pixels on the Switch are "normal" and not a defect

Nintendo made the Switch cheaply n ppl are just now seeing how cheap it is. The screen is having issues but ppl have complained about the power button getting stuck, kick stand being flimsy/easily breakable, low quality grahpics for a $300 console, the list can go on. Point is this was a cheap way to make Nintendo some profit. There is more quality issues about this product than anything Nintendo has done in the last decade.

Not to mention but all the games are crap or ports from the wii/u versions. Nothing really new till Splatoon 2 but that will likely be better on the wii u. The best game Mario Odessey isnt even out till like Nov.

The Switch may sell well cause kids are stupid but their parents are even stupider cause they will buy their kids just about anything without looking into it. Parents dont raise kids, games n tevelsion do today.

This sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Nintendo will easily lose and be required by law to refund or replace these DEFECTIVE products. Unfortunately, in this day and age, YOU (Nintendo,) can't classify defects yourself. Imagine if every company could say, "Yeah that isn't a defect it's just a thing that happens." New car engine can't go over the 1st gear? It happens, deal with it. Nope.

Nope, cant and wont happen. As was seen back in the day when LCD TVs came out. Dead or stuck pixels is NOT a defect its part of the tech that is used. Now tech has come a long way since then so we dont see as many issues as before but dead n stuck pixels are still part of tech that has never been 100% fixed/remedied.

OLED may be the future of that if more manufacturers decide to use it. No tech will ever be perfect but can be perfected to have less issues if lower quality parts arent used and some quality testing is done.

Hmmm... never seen a dead pixel too. Hope I won't see it in my future purchases too.

A cracked screen is a characteristic of LCD screens, they are delicate and should not be considered defective.

you (might) laugh at the ridiculousness of this statement? Talk to you in a few months (amidst a select few proclaiming that a crak'd screen IS ABSOLUTELY NORMAL, and you're an ijit if you don't believe that obvious truth).

I useta' like companies and the internet, now it's just a waiting game for who is next on the 'you're just too stupid to realize it's obvious' bandwagon.. another 'obvious' truth, the trolls now outnumber the remaining humans - logitech employs them to make you wear out your mouse scrolling.. and scrolling.. the wheel is the weakest part of every mouse now.. by design..
I read that on blightnews so it's 'obviously' true..

In this day and age with LCD panels everywhere, so common and having been around for millennia, why hasn't the problem of dead or stuck pixels been eliminated yet?

Haven't seen one in ages but I only buy quality products.

Is a 1000 dollar tv from samsung quality enough? my S6 had 2 dead pixels and my galaxy S7 has one too. my old Nintendo DS had several ones my psp had multiple... and my Samsung gear s3 has one.

I honestly cant think of a device I didnt had dead pixels on... Mostly they are terrible small but when searching for them you will almost Always find one on even the most expensive and highest quality devices on the market.

Im going to pick up my switch later today. I cant imagine it to be dead pixel free or I must bee the biggest Lucky son of a biatch out there.

Geez! Just put a piece of black tape over the stuck bright pixel or white tape over a stuck black
pixel.
Oh wait...

Maybe there's an indescribable affinity between you and dead/stuck pixels. I last saw those on my ancient IBM Thinkpad many moons ago.

No, that's bullsh*it. If I spend over $300 bucks, lets face it its going to be over $300 bucks, I should get a perfectly working system. 1 dead pixel is one to much.

I have seen a monitor with a single pixel bad. And to be honest you get used to seeing that pixel and learn to ignore it over time. But that is just one pixel, anything more and I would be asking for my money back/replacement.

When I had purchased my Samsung tv a few years ago it had one single dead pixel.
The store I bought it from was going out of business. Three days later I brought it back. It was too much, even one. They replaced my 32inch for me with a 38 inch of the same series for free! Also brand new. AND gave my $100 back for my trouble!
Nintendo feels that shoddy quality is normal? Wow!

I'm getting really annoyed by this crap, we don't know the dead pixel rate and this kind of policy is the industry standard. Don't hate on the switch unless you want to hold LG, samsung, veiwsonic, vizio, Asus or any other monitor or TV manufacture accountable for the same thing. All the haters probably weren't going to buy it in the first place and are just looking for reasons to hate it.

Did you catch my previous reply? I do hold everything equally. And most manufacturers and stores will accept exchanges on damaged equipment.
Nintendo's announcement makes sure that stores that do care about customers will be stuck with day one damaged equipment from returns; or won't take returns at all.

I assume you don't have a wife or friends
No, I don't have a wife because myself and my friends (which I do indeed have plenty of) spend all our time off the Mississippi coast either fishing or trolling for enough shrimp for a good boil.
