No display after new build

I just built my PC,
AMD 64 3800+
Saphire X1650 ATI
250GB Maxtor SATA
ASUS M2V
3 GB A data RAM

And for some reason, the system all powers up, with nothing displaying on the screen whatsoever. I have no idea what may be causing this, I'm thinking the video card might be DOA. Has anyone else experienced something like this before?
