Hi, please help me with this, A friend of mine got a used system that was operating just fine, it is an older system heres the specs...

intel P4 (socket 423) 1.3 GHz
PcChips m920 board
512 Mb pc133 sdram
300 watt power supply
40 GB maxtor HD
Geforce 4 MX440 agp 4x card

ok heres the problem, he wanted to upgrade th evideo card, so we took the one out of anothe rputer he has, the card is a chaintech geforce fx 5200 256 mb agp card. Once it was installed, and we made sure it was seated properly and checked everything else, we tried to boot.....nothing, no beep codes or anything. The fans came on, the drives started up, but screen stayed black and no boot. So, just to double check we put the mx card in, and it booted. I know there is the AGP comp driving settings in BIOS, and it was set at auto. Do we maybe need to adjust that? And if so, to what? thanks in advance.

Did you check for compatiblity on that new card .There are two different voltage rate for AGP 1.5 and 3. something I don't know your MB but if it is older it may not be compatible.
