Hi, I recently had a graphics card installed and ever since its been very nosi also i tihnk it might be the comptuer itself because it made nosies last night before the card was installed. And I cant tell you it never happened before or anything because the computer is 2 days old. It is very annoying is there anything i can do or buy or what a computer shop would do if I take it there?

Thank you so much for reading this, it sometimes gets very nosiy but i tihnk thats vabrations so I did move it so it not that anymore but since it had a viedo card upgrade I can hear the fan and it just drives me crazy please help thank you

By th way its a GeForce FX 5500 Overclocked PCI 256 MB DDR Graphics cad and the computer is a Dell Dimension E310 and it has a BTX case and they are very quit o i'm guessing its the card i odnt know? Please help, hanks so much

If you overclock the card, then it runs at temperatures above normal and the heat-sensitive fan has to run at higher speed, making more noise.

Also, a powerful video card will raise the ambient temperature inside the computer, making all the other fans go faster too.

Quiet and performance just don't go together really.

Oh, and it is quite normal for fans to get noisier with time. The system that was silent when you bought it will be annoyingly noisy a year later, especially if your heatsinks and air ducts are clogged with dust.

I have a dell E510 and I have had problems with the powersupply fan failing and causing vibrations. Just try opening the case and listening to the different fans and see which is making the noise.

The comptuer is 3 days old so its not dust casuing the noise also I dont know how to oevrclock unless the card itself was overclocked by the company who mad eit? I dont know I tihnk it might be comming from the power supply, I should call Dell but I hate to it takes forever to get anything through the minds of thoses people in India they just dont get the entire picture.

Thank you so much everyone for your wonderful help, When I open the case door it doesnt make the noise anymore and I called Dell and they think the case was assemblyed incorrectly meaning they sent me a defective case :dead: ( I wonder what else is wrong with the computer, A case is a rather simple thing, I do understand thet make a ton of computes so it could of been easy for them to make that mistake and nothing else, i hope)

Thanks everyone you all have been a huge help
