Hi there.
I was due a subscription renewal, and thought I would upgrade my NIS 2004 to NIE 2006 since it only cost a few pounds more.
However, now I'm getting harassed by a notice that NIS 2006 was unable to start the Instant Messenger scanner.
So off I trundle to the Symantec support website, which tells me it's to do with the vestiges of my old 2004 installation, and I needed to run a utility called SymNRT.exe to remove everything. I follow the instructions laid out on the page, and reinstalled NIS 2006.
However, after 3 attempts, following their instructions to a tee every time, I still get the message popping up. I disabled the scanner, and then I get a pop up every so often telling me there are things "that need my attention". *sigh*
Is there any way I can get this dammed scanner to work?
Appreciating any help.
(PS. I know NIS 2005 is pooey, which is why I stuck with 2004, but I had hoped 2006 would have sorted out the problems. Seems not)
