What are you talking about? Nobody is talking used prices....

AND nobody cares what u buy, just hilarious you are saying "in the future"...
I still have old RTX 3080 MSRP of 699 USD (converted to local price + tax) in my country. used price are only 10% discount at max on top of that.

but you certainly cared enough to discourage me from buying RTX 4060 card, because for whatever reason I stated or personal taste, you somehow could always disagree with it. way to being a contrarian at a random person. smh my head.

NO, it is hilarious to think you are replacing it with a 4060, based on marketing.

U absolutely make my point. That in the future you will not being do this.

Nobody would.

what? I think my GTX 1050 Ti are due for an upgrade, though. RDNA3 sure entices me, but if I have the option to get better RT, both DLSS and FSR, for around 399$, then I would go down Nvidia route.

like I said, if I did bought an RTX 4060 (or 4060 Ti), will you eat your shoes?

"recent reports..."

My Newegg account is 19 years old, recent report was checked just 40 seconds ago.

BTW, the 3090 is selling as close to the 6950XT because AMD beats it in many games...

in 40 days Radeon 6k series will get a drop... thus all rtx3 cards
I just looked at Newegg. Didn't see any 3080s for $599.

As for 6950s, depends on the game and resolution. Likewise there are benchmarks showing the 3090RTi as faster. Right now prices seem pretty much on par between 6950 and 3090 Ti. Depending on which benchmark you like the 3080Ti, is within about 3-10% of the 6950 , but at about 20% less cost. Not sure what your point is, but we are not seeing prices falling dramatically. If AMD is pricing similar to Nvidia at the same level of performance, we're not likely to see any price movements.

40 days is a long time. AMD may reduce prices in that time. Hard to say what Nvidia or it's partners will do. As I stated before, there may be little room to move on Nvidia 30 series pricing. Companies may have to sell at a loss, but there's some indication that Nvidia will restrict 40 series manufacturing to drive people to buy 30 series. I guess we will see in about a month.

AMD is releasing new 7000 series in one month... the new 7700 will have around 6950 performance and will be priced under $700.

Who is going to buy an old nVidia rtx3090 card for more than you can buy an new AMD for?

Yeah, AMD release the specs and architecture config... not a hard assessment to make.
Did they now? Strange, I can't find that on AMD's website, Checked some of their latest blog posts but they only talk about efficiency with their current cards.
Would you be a dear and grab me a link from AMD with the released specs and exact architecture config?
Here is a basic example, hinting at what I am talking about... ( https://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-rx-...e-cuts-prior-to-radeon-rx-7000-rdna-3-launch/ )
An article about their prices being officially lowered prior to their next generation announcement. Doesn't seem very out of the ordinary to me?

Yes, hardware specs for RDNA3 dies have been out for a while. AMD didn't announce the performance figures (Nov 3rd), but we know the makeup of the new RDNA3 dies. SO... we can compare them to RDNA2 dies, to get a relative picture of performance and where they will stack up between the two generations. (ie: Navi 21 vs Navi 32 dies)

If you have not compared the two generations, or have not read of any comparisons over the last 2 months, then it seems you are fair weather fan and don't commit anything to headspace. (Or you just like being obtuse)

There are hundreds of hardware sites that have this info... yet you are unable to find it or understand the different navi dies..?

You don't seem legit.

Secondly, if AMD is lowing their prices on current architecture, then nVidia will have to lower their prices too. Thus, who is going to buy a RTX3080, when you can buy a new 7700xt for same price...?

A: Nobody. That is why nVidia is going to have to lower their prices again, to compete.

Right, so what you're saying is, you can't understand the difference between a rumour and what the actual manufacturer has officially released? Got it.

FYI, no specs have been officially announced, you have absolutely no idea how they're going to perform and just like the rest of us, waiting until AMD officially unveil them. It's all just guess work at the moment, just like Nvidia's 40xx series was right up until they unveiled them last week.

And worth adding, even though we now know the specifications and Nvidia's very cherry picked performance metrics for them, we still don't know how they perform until reviews come out.

You try to convey your opinion as fact:
the new 7700 will have around 6950 performance and will be priced under $700.
When you don't know how the 7700 will perform and you have even less of an idea on pricing, is downright just spreading misinformation.
Regardless of what "fan" you think I am, you have literally made up information and tried to pass it off as fact and made sure its in AMD's favour.
That to me, sounds like you're extremely one sided.

The best advise you can give right now is simply everyone should wait. Nvidia have nearly priced themselves out of their own market, wait and see what AMD have and reviews have been released before making any kind of decision.

Oh, I can buy a new 7700xt now can I? Strange, really struggling to find it on online stores or shops. Or any performance metrics of any kind...

I am glad PC gaming is a dying trend. I myself have moved further and further away. A PS5 with a $1000 tv looks amazing enough >>>>. This is ridiculously expensive for a fps boost unlike the last decade. Spend $2000 and not even have any good games to play on it..

So you are being obtuse..?

And you ADMIT we've know he specs for a while... not all of them, but enough to know relative performance against previous (current generation) AMD dies. If you say that we can't compare... then you are throwing.

Because it is quite EASY to speculate relative performance if each die, based on the other dies.... and you are saying it impossible, not worth it & can't be done... so you somehow have disproven everything I've said...?

So, it's utter hilarity that you think NAVI 32 is going to be slower than NAVI 21...

Your best advice is to wait..? <-- Isn't that what I said... NOV 3rd.

Oh dear, never mind, I thought we might be able to have a constructive conversation and you realise you're basing everything on rumours.

I won't be responding any further, good luck with your 7700xt and convincing the world it's the best thing since slice bread (y) (Y)

Lulz...
They are not rumors, but leaks... that are true. Just like we knew the specs of Ada dies, before they were released.

What you do not like, is someone who can read the tea leaves and paint an accurate picture of what is to come. Again, we do not need to know actual performance, to know which dies are more powerful...

Sorry that you are angry that RDNA3 Navi 32 die, is more powerful than RDNA2 Navi 21 die. Maybe you don not understand why, or know anything about architecture... but then again, there are hundreds of tech sites already using the same speculation, to help you understand why...

And don't worry about the Radeon RX7700... it's perfect for your 1080p monitor.

I do not think you are aware of the semiconductor industry... and how things work.

Most likely because you do not follow semi-conductors, or architecture and are just a Gamer... upset about nVidia.

no, I understand very clearly that rumors are just rumors and couldn't be taken at face value. this is Techspot were we're talking based on facts and that means press release or verified third-party reviewer.

if you want to take rumors at face value at your full heart content and take it close to your heart like a bible, maybe go to Wccftech, Notebook Check, or Videocardz. People there would also take your rumors very seriously, unlike people here at Techspot, Anandtech, Ars, or other reputable sites were skepticism were the norm and would always take rumors with heavy grain of salt.

No, it is very clear you do not understand the difference between a leak and a rumor.

And once again, it seems you are not arguing with me, but with the tech industry... because THEY also know. I've been in the semi-conductor forums for 25+ years. People like me is how/why Lal Shimpi started Anandtech... for those who thirst for technology and validating is e-peen. It how OC started and how bullsh!t walked...

Attacking me does nothing for your argument..

Techspot's reviews are no more valid than Videocardz, or Wccftech's...
What you are trying to say, is that TechSpot doesn't cover up to the hour news and information... which is the bread and butter of said news sites like those^. (Techspot doesn't drop Day one lists of 50+ reviews from other tech sites, they release their own Review of said hardware.)

NONE OF THAT^ means that the leaked specs aren't real. There are plenty of other sites that will help you debunk what is, or isn't likely.... (one of those VODs could be mine)

So just accept, that you are not angered over my speculating on hardware leaks... but what my Speculation points to.
