Nvidia launches GeForce RTX 5060 series with three new GPUs, tries to hide the 8GB versions

Thanks for the info guys. We keep reading about 145% tariffs on China but I was curious about the real impact. Obviously some suppliers are no longer importing items such as laptops and others have probably bulk ordered items before the tariffs kicked in but, so far, I haven't seen any actual examples of prices changing.

I’ve seen a few US computer boutiques now saying they won’t ship to Canada - and blaming tariffs…
I find that interesting as the tariffs wouldn’t affect something going INTO Canada but OUT of Canada…

The way that I look at pricing in a recession is this. Supply and demand, if people can't afford the cards in a recession then they won't buy them. Credit is expensive now and most people don't have savings anymore. nVidia will have to concede on price aswell as VRAM in the recession.
Nvidia may have to concede on price in a global recession (depending on how it impacts AI spending), but the tariff cost is on top of that so the total purchase price could still be worse even with a concession from Nvidia. Who knows with the daily changes but it makes for more difficult decision making between trying to get something from this gen (if you can find near MSRP before tariffs are added) or waiting for next year's refresh.

I have a feeling I'm gonna be stuck with my 6700XT for a wee bit longer. if the Oblivion remaster rumors are true then I'll order parts at whatever price the day it is announced, but aside from that I think I'm pretty content with my 11700k and 6700XT for awhile longer. only thing I really want is a 9070XT. to be perfectly honest, the 11700k is still a fantastic CPU for my needs

Oblivion remaster apparently drops next week… but it shouldn’t require massive hardware upgrades… graphics are Unreal 5, but the game engine should still be the same from 2006…
I am SO psyched for it though - really hope I’m not disappointed

The screenshot made it look like they changed the atmosphere of the game. so much of what made it good was it being it being atmospheric. I also think the bugs made it great so hopefully they kept much of what added character to the game. in Skyrim they ended up un-fixing bugs because of player backlash.

Hard to know about atmosphere until you play - I’m hoping it stays the same that way too… some bugs I’d like removed, like having NPCs just start attacking various people in cities (or you) for no reason… I love crafting 120% chameleon armor sets and just wandering through towns stealing…

yeah, so much of what made it fun was how ridiculously unbalanced it could be if you knew what you were doing, but I felt that also added to the game. I loved some of the collision bugs and I hope they bring back the "radiant AI" that made some of the most absurd interactions between NPCs I've seen in any game. There were "emergent" game mechanics from the bugs that ended up becoming some of the most memorable parts of the game.
