Nvidia's secret weapon: It's the software, stupid

The "maths" or that he was smarter than the average poster was not what he was pointing out.
But, I can police too, Math was the word you were looking for, it is not plural.

No, they are both correct. It's just a case of which country you hail from.

(snipped) 99% of people want to have discussions and get along
While Techspot is a relatively friendly place elsewhere I run into people who only join what are effectively discussion boards (like this one) in order to be total d1cks from the anonymous safety of their home computing devices.
It's such a terrible waste of time and energy, living to mildly annoy people who btw might be bots.
In the past I've attempted to start private conversations with people like these (I.e. trolls) to discover what motivates them but ALL of them refused. It's sad but I've come to the conclusion that these people can't be helped.

Software has always been the secret weapon for anything using hardware Mr. Huang and Mr Goldberg. And it's f**king obvious. If you look at some of the best games in history you'll find optimising said game is done within the software itself - code. I'll keep saying this, efficiency is the key to the future of anything humanity does!

FYI commenters that McDonalds actually generates a significant portion of its revenue through real estate and not by selling burgers, fries, and condiments.

Marketing..!
Jensen Huang managed to sell upscaling software gimmicks, as hardware performance...!

Rewind some 6'ish years ago & Imagine if everyone knew the following before Jensen Huang walked out on stage:

Nvidia paid for exclusive rights to showcase their RTX On technology, thus denying Console players & their $500 console, the ability to have RT in those game until exclusive contracted ended.

Again, jensen sold tensor cores as the 2nd coming and all the RTX stuff he was touting, could also be rendered on the latest XSX/PS5 Console coming... but NVIDIA paid a hefty sum to make sure that all the Ray Tracing games where RTX On exclusively (ie Cyberpunk2077).

That way, Jensen would not look like a complete snake oil salesman.. after bloviating all ovr himself in that massive RTX On speech & lying to the Gaming populace, Knowing. Now Imagine if Jensen had walked out on stage back then with a Xbox Series X in one hand and a RTX2080 in the other and said:

"This $500 console can do RTX On ray tracing, but you need to buy OUR RTX2080 for $800 bcz it's the only card that can officially play any RTX games, because we bought the rights to them all.. ...and make sure you have at least a 600w power supply...!"

Bcz that is exactly what happened.

Now here is the freak'n crazy part. All those who are upset by the last paragraph do not understand that all the early RTX buyers (ie 2080/2070) and even older GTX users, all use FSR because it's better than NVidia's own snake oil.

Any Graphics card can upscale, which one give you thee most performance for your buck (ie raster) ..?

Agreed on software; got 0 issues with using DSR with my nvidia gpus to get 3840x2160 on 1920x1080 monitors and TVs of various kinds usin HDMI or displayport; meanwhile I have yet to get VSR to work with two different RX 7900XTs pm amy of those panels. Things like this really don't encourage me to keep buying AMD cards with such comparatively shoddy driver quality control.
