First, check if Hardware Acceleration is turned on. To do this:
1) Open the Start Menu and select "Run."
2) Type the word "dxdiag" (with no quotation marks) and in the window that pops up, click No.
3) When the DirectX Diagnostic Tool has finished loading, select the Display Tab.
4) Verify that DirectDraw Acceleration is enabled. If it is disabled, enable it.
5) Verify that Direct3D Acceleration is enabled. If it is disabled, enable it.
6) Exit the DirectX Diagnostic Tool to save your changes.
If DirectDraw Acceleration is already enabled, download the latest driver for your video card from
here and install them.
After doing this, try to run the game again.
