Hi,
My PC is randomly switching itself off and resetting. :blackeye:
Specs:
. AMD Athlon 2000+
. 768Mb DDR (SDRAM)
. Motherboard MSI K7N415 Pro (MS-6373N) / K7N420 Pro (MS-6373) (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 1 CNR, 3 DIMM, Audio)
DVD+ CD Writer, Floppy etc
. 40Gb Maxtor HD
. 500w generic PSU (have an old 250 PSU that have tried putting in but that doesn't help)
. Geforece4ti 4200 (AGP8x) 128Mb
ok, now this isn't limited to gaming - it happens after inconsistent intervals.
I've once had a message that it was the graphics card causing it, but rest of the windows simply reolads without any error messages - leading me think its a hardware issue.
Have got some lovely new fans and exhausts etc so my baby is running Ice Cool
, CPU never goes above 49 degrees and motherboard is always below 39 degrees. Hence cannot be a cooling issue!
Have installed the latest Nvidia drivers, not helping.
Have tested RAM using Microsoft start-up testing software, no problems.
These problems seemed to start when I installed my new 500w PSU BUT i put the old one in (which worked fine previously, i just wanted more juice) and the PC STILL crashes.
Is there any way to test the stability of specific hardware items with a software download etc?
THANKS PEOPLE!
Chris
