Please stop the page-covering ads

I will give it a try! I don't mind banner ads on any sites, but I don't like the disruptive ads that cover a page or that play sound/video.

I typically stop visiting sites with autoplay videos and sounds - - they show total disrespect even for their own customers.

Let me be clear, we don't do either of those here.

We also dropped in text ads over a year ago, we don't do skins, we don't do sticky ads, we don't do overlays, or floaters, or any of that crap.

Logged in users see a few less ads by default, too.

Fixed that for you. I've already seen the popup twice. Can't say I'm happy about it but I understand why you did it. It's only a matter of time before I get tired of it and simply stop logging in.

8,872 posts and 3,082 likes later, you more than deserve a more suitable solution to your problem.

But that doesn't mean we are not right in offering the average reader a few options and a good compromise between showing passable ads for free content (that we work hard to create and put together).

Let me be clear, we don't do either of those here.

Not suggesting you do, but only how users can react to such obnoxious and careless site design. One such is Huffington Post which I no longer visit at all.
