Problem with BF2 and Connection.

I don't know. I just started playing BF2 from a long-time of not playing it. Ha'. Okay this is my story, when I first got my computer up and running a few months ago, BF2 ran perfectly, but I had to go through Task Manager to turn-off one of the cores. A few months later, a new motherboard, with a little problems. I download the AMD X2 Optimzer from the AMD site, and the AMD Athlon 64 x2 driver also. When I play BF2 now, I receive lost of connection, and some lag in the game. Don't know if it's the ping, because today I was on a 220 ping server and it started acting up. Doesn't happen alot in the other games I play: WoW. I'm running on a 3008kb connection, don't see the problem. Also, when I go into Task Manager, I don't see the Affinity anymore, with lots of CPU boxs. Does anyone else have this problem?
