Problem with SoundDriver

I was trying to play music on winamp, & it says : Bad DirectSound Driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error code : 88780078. And when i try to play it on Windows Media, it says there's an error too.
However, i hear some sounds, so my sound driver isn't corrupted...
What do i have to do ? Should i download something ? I'd be very pleased to be answered :S

Direct sound is part of directx. If you click your start button then run and type "dxdiag", that will take you to the directx diagnostics. Check out what it says about your sound device.
