Harddrive Lacie 250GB connected trough firewire 800:

XP says it's a RAW partition (used to be NTFS)

I have restored all the files from this drive (to another), and now I would like to reformat the drive to NTFS.

When XP tries to format it, it says ehh, " Error ..can't complete the format".

Anyone have any ida how to get past this problem:
I have Easy Reovery 6.03, Fix it utilities and more.

Any suggestions would be most welcome

System XP sp2 with all updates installed

I have run into the same problem except it is formatting 4.7 gig discs. If I find something that will help you, I will let you know. Let me know if you get a solution. It may assist me with my problem..........

get free utility that will boot from optical drive
write 0's or low level format dirve
this will clear the virus if thats what may have caused the issue
must add usb or firewire drivers to see the drive
and or remove drive from tray and connect to sata or ide cable
note if bios see's drive
force large drive in bios may be necessary
