Problems with Java under Windows Me

Hi:
I´m having troubles running sofware that needs sun´s Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Presently I have installed JRE 1.4.2_07 in my PC and I know this works under Windows Me because I have installed it in another PC with windows Me and it works fine.
The problem is that programs behave in a strange way. Dialog boxes that show no text, options in the menus that are highlighted twice, help messages that appear in delay, etc...
This happens with all software written in Java, not just one program.
Does someone knows why is this happening and what should be the solution?

There is MS-Java and there is SUN-Java. Run either one, but not the 2 together.

Problem solved

I removed Microsoft JVM. I also Installed JRE 5.0. This solved the problem.
