Question about my 6800GT

ok this might be a dumb question, but i just bought this GPU and the fan is a little diff than what i thought it was gonna be. The pic that i saw has a mermaid on the fan, but this one is diff. see pic.

can any1 tell me if this is legit, is it a newer model?

Not all brands follow the reference design. It's always a good idea to look for reviews for the card you're intending to buy, that way you don't have any surprises once you get the purchased goods.

Just a tip, in case you do plan on oc'ing that vc like most 6800gt users do (including myself), go ahead and spend the extra 30bux on a decent heatsink/fan and install it. Makes all the difference in the world with temps. I think alot of manufacturers kinda puked out on their design for the heatsink on the 6800 series. But then again, i'm a freak about my hardware running cool. I went with the NV silencer 5
