Question about Speakers

Hey guys, looking for some talented computer folks
to help me. And I appreciate it.

Situation: I have a Compaq Presario PC SR5030NX,
with Windows Vista Basic, 2006. I have a Creative
Speaker system that I thoroughly enjoy. What busted
my balls recently was that I plugged my headphones into
the front jack of the PC, and now, no matter what I
do, the Speaker system is no longer working, but the
headphones continue to work.

There is no question mark on the Sound Card icon, and
so the Sound Card is enabled. I checked volume too.

My question: how do I re-enable my speakers to work,
so that I don't have to rely on my headphones.

Thanks, folks.

Check the Playback tab in your Sound control panel.
- Does it list headphones as a separate device?
- What device is set as your default device (see that it is set for your Speakers)

Here's simple program to easily switch playback default device in Vista
