Receiver problem

Hi i been wanting to hook up my receiver to my computer, but the receiver has a problem. Its a Phillips FR-965. Every time I turn it on it automatically turns it self off. Does anyone know why this happens or how I can fix it?

could be a power issue, how old is it? Does it still turn off when it is acting as a Stand Alone (Not connected to anything but power)

Its about 4-5 years old. It still turns off when nothing else but power is connected to it. The problem just happened without any prior indiction I can think of.

Might be an Electrical problem. Most recievers have their own amps and PSUs. It would be similar to a computers PSU going out. Push the button, it powers on for 1 second, then turns off. Either take it to somewhere that does repairs on that sort of equipment, or buy a new one lol. I would say you could look for the problem yourself, maybe smell it, see if it burnt out somewhere?
